One flat. Two people. Three voices. Even the smart home has something to say. Rent madness in Berlin. The situation has not eased in 2022, despite the new state government
plans to build 20,000 affordable new flats by 2030.
Daniel is delighted to have found this small, luxuriously equipped apartment with a toilet and bed. He settles in and even gets a fresh pair of trousers delivered from the premium service programme. In theory, he can relax and connect with his inner self while working from home on his computer and phone like any normal person with self-improvement goals.
While Daniel tries to familiarise himself with his hyper-functional and outrageously demanding living space, an unusual woman invades
Daniel's living space. She seems to remember a time when oversized sewing machines were standard office equipment. Something seems strange here. Why is
Daniel's bank account so empty? Amidst clean electronic sounds, songs and piano accompaniment reminiscent of silent films from the 1920s, chaos grows around Daniel, prompting the question: are you living, or merely existing?
